Asynchronous electric motors whose shaft rotation frequency is forcibly changed to a certain value under the influence of a frequency converter are called ADCR electric motors.

At the same time, the shaft rotation speed can vary significantly from the nominal value, depending on the production task that needs to be solved. To put it another way, ADCR electric motors operate at different current frequencies, from a nominal 50 Hz to the desired minimum value. From this comes the name "frequency-controlled" AC electric motor ADHR.
In fact, it is the same general industrial electric motor of GOST or DIN standard, but equipped with the necessary additional equipment designed for correct operation from a frequency drive.

The first prerequisite is the installation of a forced ventilation unit on the motor. In the standard version, the fan is installed on the shaft on a general industrial engine, but when the engine speed changes as a result of the influence of the frequency converter, the standard ventilation unit will not be enough to cool it. For this reason, the installation of independent ventilation is extremely necessary for stable operation of the motor without overheating.
Additionally, thermal sensors are installed in such motors in the stator winding and in bearing assemblies with their subsequent connection to automation. This is done in order to be able to monitor the temperature in the units of the unit and, if necessary, take appropriate measures to avoid engine failure.
Starting from 280 motors of size or power over 110 kW, it is necessary to install current-insulated bearings, either in both bearing units, or in a unit on the non-drive side, depending on the motor power and the depth of current frequency adjustment.
An additional option is to install an encoder (shaft position sensor). The encoder converts the angle of rotation of the shaft into an electrical signal that allows you to determine the angle of rotation of the motor shaft.
